In previous posts I have recommended websites such as Google Places and Foursquare, Yelp, and Facebook Places for marketing your small business locally online. In this post I cover 4 additional local marketing websites for you to list your small business. When you link your business locally in these websites, you are not only potentially reaching customers who use these online services to find local businesses, but it also helps from a search engine optimization (SEO) standpoint. These websites rank high in the search engines so potential customers will see the results in local searches. In addition you are providing quality links back to your website.
- Yahoo Local – Just follow the link I provided, and fill out the information on the page. You will want to include as much information as possible so also click on the Additional Information link and enter the requested information.
- Bing Local – Follow the link provided, and fill out the information like Yahoo Local. Unfortunately the Bing Listing Center has been down since 4/4/11, but hopefully it will be back up soon.
- Manta – Manta offers four types of listings. The link I provided is to the free listing, but they also offer three paid listings ranging in price from $20/month – $40/month. Once again provide as much information as possible.
- Merchant Circle – Merchant Circle offers a free listing, and in addition they offer paid services such as listings in additional cities, enhanced listings, etc.
Sign-up with these websites to further promote your small business locally online, and if you have any local online marketing success stories to share, please feel free to do so in the comments below.
